Have you tried chocolate and apricot goat cheese log? This sweet and salty appetizer only requires 3 ingredients and 10 minutes of your time. If you are looking for make ahead appetizers, this is one of them!
You can get some gourmet goat cheese logs in some stores, but why not make one yourself?
The idea for this chocolate and apricot goat cheese log came from our local store where I saw a similar cheese log so I decided to give it a go and we really liked it so I hope you will too!
How to make goat cheese log with apricot and chocolate
In a mixing bowl, break the cheese log. Use a fork to do this. Finely chop apricots and chocolate and add these to the cheese. Mix everything well.
Once ready, transfer this mixture onto a piece of plastic wrap and shape it into a sausage. Let it chill in the fridge for at least 1.5 hours (or overnight).
How to serve goat cheese log?
You can put it onto a small saucer and add it to a cheese board. Or serve it on its own with crackers, crostini, celery sticks or sliced apple (my favorite!).
Make sure to serve this goat cheese appetizer with a knife (or a fork) so that guests can help themselves. It will not be easy to cut because it’s packed with apricots and chocolate pieces.
Pro tips
- This goat cheese is packed with apricots and chocolate. This makes it the perfect goat cheese appetizer for those who are a bit apprehensive about trying goat flavored appetizers as the strong flavor is almost gone thanks to the other 2 ingredients used.
- You can easily double this recipe. Either make two batches or mix two goat cheese logs and form them into 1 large sausage.
- If you like a stronger goat cheese taste, feel free to reduce the amount of apricots and chocolate.
- I used dark chocolate (with 70% cocoa content) as I feel it’s the best one for this recipe.
- Why not make 2 or 3 different types of logs so that your guests can choose what they like. Here are two more goat cheese log recipe ideas for you: honey pistachio goat cheese log and goat cheese log with chives.
Home entertaining appetizer menu ideas:
Entertaining in your house can be easy if you plan ahead and if you include easy and quick appetizers on your menu. One of my favorite ones is pear prosciutto appetizers because they are easy to make and look pretty.
Slice some French baguettes and serve them alongside bread dipping oil and a selection of cheeses. It’s easy and addictive!
Caprese salad bites are one of the appetizers we had at our wedding reception and everyone loved them! Plus, they are ready in minutes which is a huge plus!
Garlic jalapeno dip or chorizo bites are the perfect home party recipe ideas.

Notes
- This recipe can be easily doubled.
- You can reduce the amount of apricots and chocolate for a stronger goat cheese flavor.
- This cheese log can be made the night before serving.
- Serve with crackers, crostini, celery sticks or apple slices (highly recommended).
- You might need to stick and push the apricots onto the log by hand as they tend to come off easily. You only need a little chocolate and apricots for coating the log.
